Mother Earth’s Tap Room may be out of commission, but renovations are being made.

Mother Earth co-owner Trent Mooring said there needed to be changes to enhance the ambiance of the establishment, resulting in the Tap Room being shut down temporarily.

“We’re closed in January and hope to open in early February,” Mooring said. “We’re doing some much-needed refreshing of the place — we’ve been here for nearly 10 years and needed to make a change.”

Besides a change of internal scenery, Mother Earth will look to add more beers on draft, increasing the total from 10 to 25. Tours of the Mother Earth Brewery can still be requested and work is planned for the Trading Post building toward the end of the month, with the goal to make it more visible next to the Tap Room.

Mooring said the Red Room will be open for those who still want to enjoy Mother Earth products in an atmosphere close to the Tap Room.

“The Red Room will operate at the Mother Earth Tap Room hours until renovations are finished,” Mooring said. “Usually, it’s only open at night, but we wanted to accommodate some of our regulars and those who want to come out for a good time.”

The Red Room will be open from Monday through Thursday between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
