40 Days of Lent Journal: Day 6
Day 6
I Corinthians 13:1-3 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:1-7: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Charity is Love. Love is a blessing. God love is everlasting, endless, eternal. If we do not have activate the love of God in our life, then our life equates to nothing.
“Love wasn't put in the heart to stay, for love isn't love until you give it away.”

Father, in Jesus name, thank you for the gift of your love. As we live today, let us feel your love for us in way we’ve never felt before. Allow us to find joy in sharing your love with others. Thank you for arranging our day so that we can slow down enough to smell a blooming flower and let us focus enough to see the shifting difference when we express your love and give to others. Amen
