COVE CITY | Lenoir Community College Horticulture Technology Program Chair Hope Mauney gave a talk at the Spring Friends of the Library meeting in Cove City last week.

Mauney started her presentation by inviting the group to walk down memory lane and imagine a plant or fragrance from a plant that evokes happy memories.  Participants shared stories about blueberry bushes, tobacco plants and knockout roses to name a few.

Mauney provided tips on when best to prune outdoor plants, how to select and place plants for success in your yard and guidance on how to rotate garden plants by family.
