Malik Dixon, North Lenoir, baseball

Dixon had a pair of strong games for the Hawks, who defeated Goldsboro and C.B. Aycock last week. The senior went 2-for-5 at the plate with three runs, a double and an RBI in an 11-7 win over the Cougars March 5, then followed with two runs, two stolen bases and an RBI in a 7-3 victory against the Golden Falcons two days later.

One place he would like to travel to: Dominican Republic

Outside of baseball, he likes to: Draw, read and write poetry

Alexandra Melk, Arendell Parrott Academy, soccer

Melk has been a strong offensive threat during the Patriots’ 3-0 start. The sophomore recorded two goals in a 4-2 win against Rocky Mount Academy March 5, followed by two goals and an assist in a 9-0 victory over Village Christian two days later, adding two goals and two assists in another 9-0 win the following day against North Johnston.

Favorite food: Pineapple pizza

Favorite musical artist: Kodak Black

One place she would like to travel to: Brazil

Outside of soccer, she likes to: Hang out with her friends on the weekends
