FCA uses athletics to spread gospel
Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on both the professional and amateur level to use the powerful medium of athletics to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
According to the FCA mission statement, the organization "focuses on serving local communities around the globe by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to unite, inspire and change the world through the gospel."
On April 16, the FCA will hold it's annual fundraising banquet at the La Grange Community Center. The guest speaker will be Mike Jenkins, FCA Area Representative for Lenoir and Greene counties, who pulls from his years of experience as a coach and employee of the public school system to inspire coaches and athletes.
"The goal of this banquet is to introduce members of our community to this outstanding ministry," said Pastor John Wiggins of First Missionary Baptist Church in La Grange. "Everyone who attends will receive a meal and get to hear exactly how their funds will be used to spread the Gospel."
The banquet is being held at the La Grange Community Center located at 410 E. Washington St. La Grange NC 28551 on April 16th at 6:30 pm.
