Former NL star named Peach Belt Conference POTW

Luke Jackson, a former North Lenoir High School star, was named the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday.

Jackson, a senior outfielder for UNC Pembroke, hit .476 in four games for the Braves with three doubles, a home run and five RBIs. He had multiple hits in each game and hit .500 (8-for-16) in a three-game series against Georgia College.  

Five of his 10 hits were for extra bases and he had an .857 slugging percentage. Jackson went 3-for-5 in Game 2 against GC with a double, a home run and four RBIs. He also had three hits in the third game, scoring three runs.  

Jackson leads the PBC in runs scored and is second in stolen bases. He is also fourth in doubles and seventh in total hits.
