The following inspections were conducted by the Lenoir County Health Department:

Bojangle's

7858 U.S. 70 West, La Grange

Score: 94

Inspection date: 01/08

Observations:

Steak above steam table was 120-136F - shall be at or above 135F - repeat violation

Slaw in front display unit was 50F; unit was holding at 44; ensure food is 41F before moving to display unit

Wet wiping cloths laying on counters and sanitizer in wiping cloth bucket was weak - repeat violation

Wash water was soiled - change as often as necessary

Shelving above chicken breaking area an in chicken walk-in needed additional cleaning - repeat violation

Floor covering has worn away in a few areas in kitchen - repeat violation


Little J's Pizza

402 East Washington Street, La Grange

Score: 98

Inspection date: 01/08

Observations:

Spaghetti sauce in well was 49F in the middle; ensure that sauce is reheated to 165F within two hours prior to serving

Shredded cheese in prep unit and small reach-in was 47-60F and some foods were above 41F; as of January 1, 2019, all TCS food shall be at or below 41F;

Wet wiping cloths laying on counter - shall be in use, in sanitizer or in dirty laundry bin;



Herritage Elite

Observations:

Sanitizer coming out of dispenser was not strong enough and dish machine was not hot enough

Chicken in refrigerator that was cooked this morning was 75 - shall be cooled from 135-70F within two hours and from 70-41F within four hours

No process used to cool chicken and chicken pastry - use methods such as ice baths, freezer, shallow pans, and covering loosely to cool food rapidly

Shelf above oven stove and back splash guard behind stove needs additional cleaning

Observations:

Homemade ranch was made on 12/29 - discard or sell food within seven days

Employee prepping food without hat or hair net - repeat violation

Single-service trays stored exposed

Light close to first door missing light shield; both light bulbs in hood are out

Observations:

Lettuce and smoked sausage in prep unit were above 41F - shall be 41F or lower

Flies observed in kitchen and pit room

Wet wiping cloths laying on counters

Cabinets, shelving and drawer in disrepair - repeat violation

Inside of walk-in, refrigeration units and shelving needs additional cleaning - repeat violation

Walls and floor in kitchen and pit room need additional cleaning - repeat violation

Observations:

Dishes above bread table and beside filet station were visibly dirt

Some chicken, lettuce and cabbage were above 41F - shall be 41F or lower

Dishes were stacked wet

First gasket on bread table door is tearing

Dishes stored on the floor under three-compartment sink - shall be stored on the drain board or other shelving - repeat violation

Shelving, bread table, inside refrigeration units and soap dispensers need additional cleaning

Floor around fryers, floor in walk-in freezer and walls beside bread table need additional cleaning - repeat violation


Stacie's Grill

7823 U.S. 70, La Grange

Score: 98

Inspection date: 01/28

Observations:

Hand sink in BBQ pit was not turned on

Pepsi cooler in back was 44F - shall be 41F or lower

Wet wiping cloths laying on drain board and beside grill - repeat violation

Utensil bins need additional cleaning

Holes in walls need to be repaired


Pizza Plus

4149 N.C. 11 South, Deep Run

Inspection date: 02/05

Observations:

No certified food protection manager present

Several pans are tacky - shall be clean to sight and touch; inside of ice machine has crud - shall be clean to sight and touch

Raw chunk of hamburger and pattied burgers in two-door reach-in and prep refrigerator are 43-44F

Food employee dons gloves but does not wash hands prior to preparing food after touching table, telephone

Permittee explained TPHC procedures for holding french fries at room temperature after running through oven, but has no written procedures - shall be provided

Solution of sanitizer for wiping cloths is less than/equal to 50 ppm chlorine - shall be stored in a solution of approved sanitizer

Caulk has been added to ice bin rim and is now rough and hard to clean - shall be smooth and easily cleanable

Several areas are soiled - pipes, cabinet floors, shelving, etc.

Dumpster on ground - variance applied for. 

Walls damaged - shall be in good repair
