Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Zeta Omicron Omega Chapter crowned Cierra Renee Grady as Miss Cotillion 2019 on Friday at the Debutante Cotillion Ball.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Zeta Omicron Omega Chapter will proudly host its 23rd Biennial Debutante Cotillion Ball on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at Lenoir Community College. The event will feature the debut of twelve young ladies from Lenoir, Greene and Wayne counties.
This year’s cotillion theme is an “A Royal Affair to Remember.”
The twelve debutantes have spent the past eight months taking part in cotillion activities. The young ladies had the chance to visit North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, as well as the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro. They also participated in scholarship advice sessions, job interview instruction session and charm sessions.
Each debutante has also worked to raise money for scholarships by gaining sponsors from family members and the community. The young lady who raised the most money will be named cotillion queen.
The cotillion on Friday will feature a performance from the debutantes, and the cotillion queen will be presented to the public.
Alpha Kappa Alpha publicity chairperson Lavonell Whitfield said that the members of the sorority are very proud of all that these young ladies have accomplished and all the hard work they have put in to prepare for Friday’s event.
The following debutantes will be presented:
