Kinstonians will soon be able to view movies in style.
The Premiere Theatre 7 started renovations Tuesday, installing electric luxury leather recliners. Tristen Carter, general manager of the facility, said there will be slightly fewer seats, but it’s more for quality over quantity in most of the auditoriums.
“We’ll have the recliners in five of our seven theaters — our two stadium ones will have the regular chairs,” Carter said. “Our hopes are that we’re able to have people excited about the changes and they’ll come watch a movie here instead of traveling out of town.”
The projected date of installation is June 15.
Despite renovations, Carter said the theater is open.
“We’ll have four of our seven open for the public,” Carter said. “Right now, we’ll be showing movies such as ‘Aladdin,’ ‘John Wick 3,’ ‘The Avengers,’ ‘Detective Pikachu’ and ‘A Dog’s Journey,’ and we plan to have ‘Ma’ and ‘Godzilla’ when they come out.”
