The bond between fathers and daughters is something special, and one local restaurant held an event last week to help strengthen and celebrate that bond.
April 30 was Daddy Daughter Date Night at Chick-fil-A of Kinston, and dozens of fathers and daughters came out to enjoy a night of chicken and togetherness. Chick-fil-A owner/operator John McPhaul said the event was part of a series of evenings that aim to “create remarkable events that help parents bond with their children.”
Throughout the year, Chick-fil-A of Kinston will also hold special nights for mothers and daughters, fathers and sons and mothers and sons. For the fathers and daughters, the evening featured table-side service, a photo booth, a flower and gift bag for each daughter in attendance and a dance floor for after dinner.
Wendi Howard, director of marketing for Chick-fil-A, said her team had worked hard to create a special experience for all those in attendance.
“It’s all about the connection between dads and daughters,” she said.
Though many of the daughters in attendance were young, Howard said that age was not an issue.
“It doesn’t matter if they are 2 or 42. It can be a special time for daughters of any age,” she said.
Each table was able to place their orders at their table, and make use of some conversation starting tips placed on each table while waiting for their food to arrive. The Chick-fil-A cow was on hand and dressed to the nines in a top hat, and available for photo ops with the guests.
Jess Edwards attended with his daughter and said he appreciated that Chick-fil-A holds these types of events.
“It’s wonderful for Kinston’s Chick-fil-A to provide the opportunity for a special time for a father and daughter,” he said.
The next special event will be held later in the spring, and will be a special mother-daughter tea.
