Hey y’all! My name is Gracie and I am a rising junior attending North Lenoir High School.

I am so blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the Neuse News Summer Internship program. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as playing with dogs and my sweet little cousin, Kali.

During the school year, you can find me working on projects for DECA, being involved in North Lenoir drama department, and the North Lenoir Student Government Association.

I am also a member of the North Lenoir softball team and Lenoir-Greene Young Life; Young Life is a huge part of my life and I enjoy spending my Thursday nights with all of my sweet Jesus-lovin’ friends.

Besides being involved with the community and school, I am also currently employed at Chick-fil-A of Kinston, so next time you’re feeling hungry, stop in and say hi!

I love a lot of things in life, including Jesus, the mountains, Shawn Mendes, concerts and traveling. This summer I will be traveling to Washington, D.C., Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Brooklyn, N.Y. I thoroughly enjoy this sweet little city of Kinston, but I love spending time spreading the love to other places around the country.

So far with this internship I have already made so many memories with my colleagues, Norma, Ali, Ethan and Parker. We had so much fun getting out into the community at the BBQ Festival, setting up live streaming equipment with Travis, and reading and republishing old stories from the Olde Kinston Gazette.

I am looking forward to this summer being filled with friends, learning opportunities, mentorship and most of all the opportunity to share my love and appreciation for Kinston with the help of Neuse News.

I cannot wait to get out into this sweet city and meet new people as well as experience new things.
