Reece Gardner: Impeachment update

Reece Gardner: Impeachment update

Let's talk more about the charade that is called Impeachment, which seems to be finally coming to an end.  A senior White House official told reporters in a phone briefing last week that it is extraordinarily unlikely that it will last more than two more weeks.

President Trump is on schedule to deliver his State of the Union address to the Nation on February 4, and Senator Lindsey Graham is predicting that this "trial" should be over by then, with the President likely being acquitted in a bipartisan vote. It seems incredible that this farce has gone on this long since the document it is based on shows no commitment of a crime and no violation of any law.  In fact, it is so weak that some Senators are considering calling for outright dismissal of the entire charade.

However, there is a possibility that the Senate might open these proceedings to further witnesses but, unlike the way these proceedings were handled in the House where only anti-Trumpers were allowed to testify, the President's representatives would call additional witnesses (Comey, Schiff, Brennan, Clapper, etc.) which could open a giant Pandora's Box hugely detrimental to the President's enemies.

As many believe this is a coup designed to overthrow a duly elected President, and it reared its ugly head even before he was sworn into office. Meanwhile, in the midst of all this impeachment talk, tens of thousands are filling large arenas and cheering the President with shouts of "Four More Years," "Keep America Great," and "USA, USA!"  Indeed, the President's achievements are a little short of stunning.  The economy is vibrant with more Americans employed than ever before, confidence is soaring and business is booming.

In just the past few days, the President signed Phase One of a historic trade agreement with China, bringing the world's two largest economies together for the promotion of peace and prosperity. He also, during this same period of time, signed a trade deal with Mexico and Canada (USMCA) which bodes well for residents of these three countries.

He also supports Biblical values, as he stated in his 2019 State of the Union address:  "There could be no greater contrast to the beautiful image of a mother holding her infant child than the chilling display our nation saw in recent days when lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother's womb moments before birth.

“These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and their dreams with the world."  AMEN!

Now to close on a lighter note that, if you are familiar with cats, you can relate to:  Three house pets - a Golden Retriever, a parakeet, and a cat  - all die and go to Heaven. As with all the good animals, God decides to have a personal discussion with each one to see where they will stay in Heaven.

He turns to the dog and says, "Tell me, in your own words, what are your ultimate principles? What do you believe in?" The dog says, "I believe in loyalty, companionship, and love. I have been a cherished part of my family for many years."  God smiles, "Truly, you have a pure and loving heart. You shall sit at my right hand."

God then turns to the parakeet and asks, "What do you believe in?", to which the parakeet replies, "I believe in color, flamboyance and music. For many years I have displayed my beautiful feathers and filled my owner's house with song. "Your beauty is truly great," God says, "You shall sit at my left."

God then turns to the house cat and says, "And you, majestic little predator, what do you believe in?"  The cat lazily surveys God's Throne and says, "I believe you're in my seat!"

Have a WONDROUS day!
