Jones County Schools moving PreK-5 students to Plan A
Jones County Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously this week to move Jones County Pre-K-5 students to Plan A beginning October 26, 2020. Grades 6-12 will remain in Plan B until further notice. Prioritized students in grades 6-12 being served through Individual Education Program (IEP) plans will also be able to return on Plan A to the extent that safety and social distancing guidelines allow as outlined by the Department of Health and Human Services under Plan A. Parents of students grades 6-12 will be notified if their child is able to access Plan A by their child’s Exceptional Children’s teacher.
Under Plan A all students in grades PreK-5th can return to school four days each week with Wednesdays remaining as the remote learning and sanitizing day. Parents/Guardians may still opt for ‘remote/virtual only learning if they feel that it is the best option for their child. The school will continue to be thoroughly cleaned on Wednesdays and Fridays and we will continue to follow all safety and social distancing guidelines as outlined by the Department of Health and Human Services under Plan A. A school representative will be calling all families to determine each parent’s learning option preference. Additional information will be sent later in the week.
Remember: We will remain on Plan B (two days per week) until October 26th.
