LCC announces spring registration for state-of-the-art facility

The Lenoir Community College Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Center, located at 3800 NC Hwy 58 in Kinston, offers classes in Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Integrated Machining, Industrial Systems Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Technology. The state-of-the-art facility reopened in the fall and was previously used for Spirit training.

“Registration is going on for spring,” said Richy, Director of Marketing, Recruiting and Communications. “With spring registration there are so many opportunities for students.”

Lenoir Community College is looking for industry partners. Industry partners will have company access to the most highly trained technical workforce in the area and company logos featured on the sponsor wall at the Center. They also want their facility to be of use to others.

“We want the industry to be able to utilize us as a prototype facility,” said Matthew Berg, Director of Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Center.

The LCC Guarantee scholarship, per their website, invests in high-achieving students who choose Lenoir Community College as their launching point to college transfer and career opportunities.

“We have five success coaches across the campus. Their sole job is to make sure the students are successful and have the support that they need,” said Dr. Hunt.

The Customized Training Program (CTP) at Lenoir Community College provides education, training and support services for new, expanding, and existing business and industry in Lenoir, Jones, and Greene Counties to promote job growth, technology investment and productivity enhancement.

“We have four degree programs, but we also offer short term training programs, so students can get credentials in a short period of time. Those have market value in the marketplace,” said Dr. Hunt, President at Lenoir Community College.

At AAMC, students can work with equipment and training in multiple areas including 5-Axis machining, hydraulics, robotics, and quality control. Degree and short-term training students can earn credentials in NIMS Credentials, NC3 Certifications, and Computer/Electronic Credentials.

“Everything here is state of the art,” said Honeycutt.
