Reece Gardner: US Supreme Court decision based on jurisdiction, not merit
The ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court denying Texas' motion to file a Bill of Complaint alleging voting irregularities by the states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin was based mainly on the claim that "Texas did not demonstrate a judicially recognizable interest in the matter." So this ruling by SCOTUS was apparently based on the jurisdiction and not the merits of the case, which may embolden the challengers to continue their efforts.
The ruling, issued by the Court on December 11, states the following: "The State of Texas' motion for leave to file a Bill of Complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution. Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. "Both Justices Thomas and Alito dissented as follows: "Since we do not have the discretion to deny the filing of a Bill of Complaint in a case that falls within our original jurisdiction, we would therefore grant the Motion to file the Bill of Complaint."
But the Motion was not granted by SCOTUS, which would seem to bring this effort to a close. But there are still court cases in play in several states, such as: (1) In Pennsylvania, Rudy has a case he is taking to the Supreme Court, and two Congressmen from that state still have a case at the Court arguing that how absentee ballots were processed in the State was unconstitutional; (2) In Georgia, Lin Wood has a case pending at the Supreme Court, Sydney Powell has a case on appeal, and President Trump has filed an Emergency Petition with the Supreme Court in Georgia. Similar cases are also pending in Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin.
Folks, I am sure that most of us want this matter brought to a close as soon as possible, but there were apparently a significant number of irregularities that occurred in the process which need to be resolved, if for no other reason than to let those who might be inclined to commit election fraud know that such actions will not be tolerated. Our Freedom depends on it!
Now, to close on a humorous note: As a butcher is shooing a dog from his shop, he sees a $10 bill and a note in the dog's mouth, reading: "5 lamb chops. please ."Amazed, he takes the money, puts a bag of chops in the dog's mouth, and quickly closes the shop. He follows the dog and watches him wait for a green light, look both ways, and trot across the street to a bus stop.
The dog checks the timetable and sits on the bench. When a bus arrives, he gets on board. The butcher follows, dumbstruck. As the bus travels out into the suburbs, the dog takes in the scenery. After a while he stands on his back paws, pushes the "Stop" button, and exits the bus. The butcher follows. He watches the dog run-up to a house and tap on the door.
After continuous tapping, a big guy opens the door and angrily shouts at the dog. The butcher runs up and screams at the guy, "What are you doing? This dog is a genius!" The man replies, "He's no genius - it's the second time this week he's forgotten his keys!"
Have a wondrous day!!
