Parrott’s SERV Society this week concluded a successful toy giving campaign, which started after students returned from Thanksgiving. Each day, a growing pile of toys filled collection boxes in the school lobby.

“I wanted to buy toys for kids who may not get to have them this Christmas,” said super-giver Grayson Eakes.  Though only a first grader, Grayson sold 100 dozen homemade peanut butter treats to raise $600, which he used to purchase toys for the drive.

“This year, we exceeded our goal, collecting 840 toys” commented SERV advisor Leslie Lewis. “I’m so grateful to our students and their families.”

On December 7th, high school students helped transport the mountain of toys to the Salvation Army in Kinston for distribution to children. The entire student body earned a PJ Day for enthusiastic participation in the project.
