The Lenoir Community College Foundation is excited to display the artistic talents of our community members, Transitional and Career Studies students, and Fine Arts Department students in a special event, For the Love of ART from 7 to 8:30 p.m. February 28 in the LCC Blizzard Atrium and Culinary Center. Admission is free for the event.

For the Love of the ART will show case a variety of artistic pieces that will be auctioned to support the LCC Foundation Scholarship Program.

Kacy French is enrolled in the Transitional and Career Studies Program at LCC. She loves all art as she says it lifts her spirit and brings her joy when she feels down.  Kacy has been painting since she was 2 years old and loves it. She loves painting silhouettes because when you put color on the black it white, it pops.

“My family inspires me,” she said. “I want to be a light for not only my brothers and sisters, but I want to be the light for someone in a dark place.”

She added that she wants to spread God’s love through her art.

French wants to one day become a pediatric surgeon or an actress.  She wants to help people but making sure they know they can do whatever they put their mind to.  “Anyone can do art, not just painting, but any art form and it will help release any stress.”

To attend For the Love of the ART, please RSVP by February 21, 2020, or call Debbie Wise at 252-233-6824 or email dcwise02@lenoircc.edu.
