A father's love sparked a book

‘Is There Anything More This Day is Good For?’ written by Potter and illustrated by Sabine Sutterlin Hutto

A Father’s love for his daughter has turned into a delightful book with engaging prose and images sure to capture the attention of small children. Kinston resident Brandon Potter has written a book for his daughter Stella. Stella was born six weeks premature and spent the first 16 days of her life in the hospital.

‘Is There Anything More This Day is Good For?’ written by Potter and illustrated by Sabine Sutterlin Hutto was published by Mascot Books on March 3rd, 2020 and can be purchased at online retailers including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Target, Google Books, and Mascot Books.

Potter wrote the book to remind himself moments are precious, and even if he only has a few moments to spend with his daughter, that he should make the most of them. Since becoming a dad, he has used the new experiences of fatherhood to create a book he hopes will provide parents with an extra moment with their children.

With words that rhyme, the book is sure to captivate children of all ages. The rhythm of the poem is simple enough for young ones to understand but complex enough to keep the adult reader wanting to turn the page. The concept within the words relate to any parent who feels as though they spend all day doing important things, with little to show for their efforts. The poem culminates with a satisfying and sweet conclusion.

“There is nothing more this day is good for,” Potter said to himself after a busy day when he laid down to sleep.

The words sparked creativity in him that turned into a message he wanted to share with other parents that there was always more a day is good for.
