Police make arrest in shooting on Cameron Drive
On June 29, 2020 at approximately 1:54 pm, officers with the Kinston Police Department were searching the area near Hwy 11 N.and Mewborn Avenue related to the shooting incident and subsequent motor vehicle collision. Officers located a suspect vehicle from a shooting on June 11, 2020, which occurred on Cameron Drive in Kinston. Officer initiated a vehicle stop and located three handguns and 200 grams of marijuana in the vehicle. One of the handguns was determined to be stolen from Martin County.
Golontae Brock, 20 yr. old male from Kinston, was arrested and charged with the following charges: Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana, 2 Counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession Drug Paraphernalia. Ke’monte Nobles, 20 yr. old male from Kinston, was arrested and charged with the following charges: Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession Drug Paraphernalia and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Their photos are attached. A search warrant was later obtained for Mr. Brock’s residence on Dunn Road in Lenoir County. The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Kinston Police Department executed the search warrant and located three more weapons, an AK-47, a shotgun and a stolen handgun from Greeneville, as well as a suspected Schedule I narcotic. Charges are pending by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.
This prior incident occurred on June 11, 2020, where the residence at 1000 Cameron Drive and two vehicles were struck by gunfire. Mr. Nobles was also charged with the following charges related to this Cameron Drive shooting: 5 counts of Conspiracy to Commit Murder, 5 counts of attemped murder and 2 counts of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling.
The shooting incident from yesterday on Hwy. 11 North is still under investigation.The victim of the shooting has been identified as Marquez Dontrell Outlaw, 31 year old male from Kinston, NC. He is still being treated at Vidant Medical Center. Investigators are continuing to interview witnesses and pulling video footage. As of this time, no charges have been filed in relation to that incident.
