Lenoir County COVID-19 vaccination clinic fills; registration paused

KINSTON — Due to a positive and overwhelming demand by Lenoir County residents for the COVID-19 vaccine, the Lenoir County Health Department is pausing registration for the 75-and-older vaccination event that begins Monday and lasts through Friday at the Lenoir County Livestock Arena.

“We are thrilled at the response that we’ve had for the vaccine,” Lenoir County Health Department Director Pamela Brown said. “However, since we have a limited amount of vaccinations, we need to press ‘pause’ until we can catch up.”

Brown said, at this time, her department has collected enough names to fill all the slots for this week’s vaccination event for residents 75-and-older at the livestock arena.

“We will continue to call back people who have made the initial call to register and to give them an appointment time,” she said. “Please answer your phone if you get a call from the health department.”

As more vaccines come into the county, residents are encouraged to monitor the Lenoir County Health Department Facebook page, along with the Lenoir County website (lenoircountync.gov) for more updates about where the vaccine will be available.
