Five COVID-19 related deaths in the last week for Lenoir County

The Lenoir County Health Department is reporting five additional deaths in the county of residents who had tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number to 91. 

The five deaths have occurred since Jan. 13, the last time the Lenoir County Health Department made a similar announcement. 

All but one of the five were over the age of 65; all five had underlying health conditions. To protect the families’ privacy, no further information will be released. 

“I am so sorry to announce these deaths to the community,” Lenoir County Health Department Director Pamela Brown said. “My sympathy to the family and friends impacted by losses from this disease.”
