Her love and talent of sewing was unmatched and even included her wedding dress that was also worn by both her daughters. A lifetime member at Woodington United Methodist Church, she held many positions but was especially enthusiastic about her mission work with the Methodist Women’s Society.
Virginia is survived by her daughters Jane Sutton Giles, Susan Sutton Croom, son-in-law Andy Croom, and grandchildren, Tyler Croom, Stuart Giles, Tiffany Croom; brother Giles Stroud, sister-in-law Carol Stroud, and sister Pearl Stroud-all of Kinston, NC. The family would like to express deep gratitude to Virginia’s care sitters, Kathy, Meghan, Tara, and Carolyn.
A graveside service will be held 3 pm on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Westview Cemetery in Kinston, NC. The family will receive friends following the service. Virginia’s family asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Woodington United Methodist Church, C/O Gwynn Rouse, 4079 Liddell Road, Seven Springs, 28578.
