Obituary: Jean Sutton Hoffman

Jean Sutton Hoffman December 28, 1932 – November 25, 2021

Lois Jean Sutton Hoffman, 88, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Brookdale Union Park, Monroe, North Carolina.

Jean was born in Wayne County to the late Benjamin L. and Ethel May Barnes Sutton on December 28, 1932. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hoffman. A talented seamstress, Jean was employed with J & R Shirt Factory in Kinston, later becoming Bohn Hom and then Brooks Brothers.
She was a faithful member of Neuse Baptist Church.

A service of love and remembrance will be held in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Jean is survived by her children, Debbie Garner and husband, Gerald, Eric Hoffman and wife, Allison, Terry Hoffman and wife Karen; grandchildren, Rick Jackson, Angel Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Jaime Jackson, Craige Hoffman, Scott Hoffman, Hunter Hoffman, and Savannah Hoffman; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charlie Sutton and wife, Marion.
