BREAKING: Manhunt in Lenoir County

Today the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office along with numerous other agencies were involved in a vehicle chase that went through numerous counties. The chase began in Johnston County after the suspect fled in a vehicle. The suspect fled from police through Johnston, Wayne, Greene and Lenoir Counties.

Kenneth Earl Piper is in custody

UPDATE: Maj. Ryan Dawson of Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed Kenneth Earl Piper is in custody. After an intensive search, Kenneth Earl Piper is in custody. Piper was found inside the search perimeter this afternoon and arrested by deputies.

Kings Restaurant, a local barbeque and chicken restaurant, in Kinston was featured on The Drew Barrymore show on Monday for the ‘Battle of the Bites’ BBQ Ribs episode that posed the question ‘Who does Drew think is the BBQ Goat?’. The contest was between Kings, Charles Vergos Rendevous, and Joe’s Kansas City BBQ.
