Pivot's Night Life wants to be Kinston's version of Cheers

A new bar is open in Kinston, located at 2902 W. Vernon Ave. Pivot’s Night Life will feature entertainment targeted toward a more seasoned crowd.

“Older people 30 and above have no where to go in this town,” said owner Jerry Hill. We are trying to create something for the 30 and above crowd.”

The full bar will feature mixed drinks, wine and beer. The music will be Oldies, Mo Town, Beach, and Country music. There will be line dance lessons, shag lessons, corn hole tournaments in the spring and the fall. Music bingo and karaoke will alternate on different nights.

“We’re going to be an upper-scale bar, it’s going to be a low key place to go,” said Hill. “A place where you can come in and drink. It is going to be Kinston’s version of Cheers.”

The facility opened last Thursday for the Shaggers and will be open on New Year’s Eve. After that, the hours of operation will be Thursday through Saturday, 5:00 pm to close on week nights and 5:00 pm until 2:00 am on weekends.

“We’re trying to support and make a place for us people who just don’t have anywhere else to go,” said Hill. “We want the people that no body else is catering to.”

Pivot is currently seeking bartenders with experience in mixing drinks, a good country DJ, a good swing dance DJ, and a Line Dance instructor.
