Senator Don Davis announced intent to run for congress

Senator Don Davis, of Greene County, has announced his intent to run for congress to represent the second district, after Representative G.K. Butterfield said he would not seek re-election.

"Whether in uniform in the United States Air Force, teaching in the classroom, or preaching in the pulpit, everything I’ve done is to give back to the community that raised me," said Davis on Facebook. "As the Mayor of Snow Hill and a State Senator, I’ve gone to bat for eastern NC.
