Kinston Police: Fatal crash at the intersection of E. Lenoir Ave and East St.
On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 6:14 p.m., Officers from the Kinston Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of E. Lenoir Ave. and N. East St. EMS and Kinston Department of Fire & Rescue also responded to assist with life saving measures.
The initial investigation revealed a Kawasaki dirt bike ridden by Dedrick Dion Dail Jr. (27 yoa) of Kinston was traveling west on E. Lenoir Ave. The operator lost control of the bike as it approached the stop sign at N. East St. and was struck by a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by a 46 year old male from Kinston.
The operator of the dirt bike succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver of the Jeep did not sustain any injuries. This incident is still under investigation by the Kinston Police Department.
