Reece Gardner: Trump accomplished a lot

With the constant barrage of Negative Reporting on Donald Trump, a casual observer might conclude that he accomplished very little during his 4 years as our President, but as newsman and political activist Mark Patricks pointed out last week, he accomplished a lot.

Admittedly, Some of these accomplishments have now been voided by executive orders of President Biden, and by the jolting effects of Covid 19, but some do remain in effect and will serve our country well. Let's highlight a few of these.

President Trump inherited an economy that had an average unemployment rate of around 9%, and within just 3 years of his Presidency that rate had dropped to just 3.5%, which was the lowest rate of unemployment our country had seen in 50 years.

Trump's Pro-America, Pro-Jobs approach to governance made most all American lives better. Employment rates for Blacks, Hispanics, and women had never been higher than they became under his tenure. Manufacturing jobs began pouring back into our country.

Trump brokered trade deals between Israel and FIVE Muslim nations, while presiding over the building of 450 miles of new wall construction on our Southern border. He also kept us out of war. The world now has more peace agreements than ever before, with Trump even coming close to a peace agreement with N. Korea, meeting with Kim Jung on N. Korean soil right at the border between North and South Korea. Most outlets never reported that Trump even learned to speak Korean to enable him to more effectively negotiate with Kim. He also persuaded NATO members around the world to agree to paying for their own defense.

Trump also reestablished America's sovereignty as a Nation by cancelling the so-called Paris Peace Accord, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and the Iran Nuclear Deal, and he did all of this while being impeached and investigated by a multitude of nay-sayers. Add to this the opening of the Keystone Pipeline, leading us to a position of energy independence for the first time in 100 years, providing thousands of high-paying American jobs and boosting this country's economies through the inner-mountains and all the way through our country.

Legislation has been introduced in the U.S. Senate to authorize continued construction of the Pipeline. So, Folks, while President Trump is not perfect, he has done a lot of things deserving of our praise. Let's recognize that!

Now, to close on a humorous note: A General noticed that one of his soldiers was behaving oddly. The soldier would pick up any paper he found, then frown and say, "That's not it," and toss the paper away. This went on for some time, until the General arranged to have the soldier psychologically tested. The psychologist concluded that the soldier was deranged, and wrote out his discharge from the Army. The soldier picked it up, smiled, and said, "That's it!"

Have a great day!
