Fields earns doctorate degree from prestigious university

Dr. Yoshiko Terrell Aunrico Fields, a native formerly of Kinston has successfully earned his Doctorate Degree in College Leadership from Ferris State University. Ferris State University is an accredited institution in Grand Rapids Michigan with over 135 years of service. Ferris State University is nationally known for one of the best schools for Optometry, dental school, and Community College leadership.

Dr. Fields attended Lenoir County Public Schools and furthered his studies at Livingstone College and North Carolina A&T State University.

Dr. Fields successfully defended his dissertation on Friday, February 26th. His work, entitled "A Phenomenological Study of Academic Advisors’ Culturally Responsive Advising of Black Males at an Urban Community College During COVID-19," was led by his committee, Drs Jerry Wallace, Edrel Stoneham, and Theresa Simpson.

Dr. Fields aspires in working with diverse students to ensure their success in educational environments.

Dr. Fields currently resides in Houston, Texas as a Professor at Houston Community College for the School of Business Management and Computer Information systems and Dual Credit Programs at Houston School District. Congratulations, Dr. Fields.
