The perks of membership with the Kinston Community Center

Membership with the Kinston Community Center goes beyond traditional fitness. In addition to the fitness classes, therapeutic and competitive pools, and gymnasium, membership also includes beneficial perks that include Lions Water Adventure and discounted access to banquet facilities.

“At the Kinston Community Center, your membership not only includes the fitness center, our fitness classes, but we also have some exclusive perks just for you,” said Kelly Cannon, Director of the Kinston Community Center.

Lions Water Adventure is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day and features water slides, a 550-foot lazy river, and includes a kiddie lagoon. Members of Kinston Community Center are offered exclusive hours unavailable to the general public to enjoy the water park.

“Anytime you book a pool party with us, you can have access to our Cocoa Cabana which has brightly painted walls, tables, chairs, and a refrigerator,” said Kelly Cannon. “It’s a really cool environment for a kid’s party.”

Banquet facilities are available to Kinston Community Center for members at a discounted rate of 20%. The room is available at full or at half capacity. Full capacity is up to 160 people and can be rented for $300 for four hours. Half capacity is $150 for four hours and can hold up to 80 people. The multipurpose room can host any type of event with audio and video capabilities.

"It’s a relatively inexpensive space for all the perks you get, including access to the catering kitchen with your reservation," said Cannon.

The Kinston Community Center follows all the executive orders from Governor Cooper. During the covid season, the center updates its policies and procedures based on the governor's orders in order to keep all of its members safe.

“Come visit us, let me take you on a tour, and let our team show you around our facilities,” said Cannon. “We want you to be a part of our community.”
