Parrott students take multiple awards in soil and water contests

APA students in grades 6 through 9 took top honors in multiple categories of the Lenoir Soil and Water Conservation Competition for 2021. Freshman Tien Le won first place in the digital poster contest, with Claire Mixon taking first place in the 6th grade poster contest. 

Mac Owsley won second place, while Edward Magnin and Reagan Rouse tied for third place. In 6th grade slide show contest, Valli Blackwelder took first place with Jack Albritton and Ava Carter taking second and third place respectively. In the 6th grade essay contest, Charles Harper took first, Preethi Chada took second, and Ava Carter took third. Seventh grade public speaking winners were Wali Omer in first place, followed by Ezra Zapler in second and Clara Evans in third. 

Teachers Staci Basden, Gina Mackey, and Jana Miller congratulated their students on the research and effort put into their projects.
