ASSISTANT CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER- FIELD POSITION

JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Coordinator to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction activities for large, extensive projects primarily in Eastern NC from Greensboro to Wilmington. Work closely with Project Manager and General Contractors representatives to ensure quality installations delivered on time and within budget. You will organize and oversee construction projects to ensure they are completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget. An excellent Construction Project Coordinator must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate with the operations team to achieve excellent results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.

Salary: TBD (Commensurate with experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Support Project Manager and / or Project Superintendent with project management and project documentation. Interface with others to resolve problems, ensure the quality of installations, etc. in support of the overall project schedule. Complete other assignments as assigned by your direct supervisor. While traveling to jobs maintain an insurable driving record. Collaborate with client representatives to determine the specifications of the project Assist project manager in determining and coordinating needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met Coordinate with purchasing manager to acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities Provide support to installation technicians give them guidance when needed Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent job related experience (minimum of five years). Must have a working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline. Superior communication and interpersonal skills essential. Skilled in assuming responsibility and reaching deadlines. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, MS Office, Excel and overall computer technology. Proven experience as construction project engineer In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards Familiarity with construction/ project management software Outstanding communication and negotiation skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills A team player with leadership abilities
