CASE UPDATE: Second arrest made

Second Arrest UPDATE: 05-26-2021

Earlier this evening Joseph Dixon Hughes was apprehended in Wayne County by the Kinston Police Department with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Goldsboro Police Department. Mr. Hughes is currently being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $500,000.00 secured bond.

CASE UPDATE:

On Thursday, May 20, 2021, Officers of the Kinston Police Department obtained additional warrants on Joseph Dixon Hughes and Clinton Wade Christmas for Second Degree Murder for their involvement in this case.

On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Clinton Wade Christmas turned himself into officers of the Kinston Police Department at which time he was served with warrants for Second Degree Murder.

At this time, officers are still searching for Joseph Dixon Hughes. Anyone that has information on the whereabouts of Mr. Hughes is asked to contact the Kinston Police Department.
