All-way stops installed next week at Greene County intersection

HOOKERTON – Safety improvements are coming to a pair of intersections in Greene and Pitt counties next week.

The N.C. Department of Transportation will convert N.C. 123 and Four Way Road in Greene County from a two-way stop into an all-way stop. Currently, drivers on N.C. 123 do not have to stop. The conversion is scheduled to begin Monday morning.

On Tuesday morning, NCDOT will convert N.C. 102 and Ayden Golf Club Road in Pitt County to an all-way stop. Currently, drivers on N.C. 102 do not have to stop.

The conversions are expected to wrap up each day by early afternoon. The work is weather dependent.

Learn more about the benefits and what to do at an all-way stop on this NCDOT webpage.

Drivers should keep an eye out for crews working at these intersections and prepare for the new traffic design.
