The Lenoir County Fair returns to the fairgrounds
The 66th Annual Lenoir County Fair will be at the Lenoir County Fairgrounds, located at 401 Fairgrounds Road in Kinston, from October 5, 2021, through October 9, 2021. The fair features amusement rides, entertainment, agricultural exhibits, and contests.
“The fair is a community event…like a community reunion,” said Tonya Adams, board member. “I ask everyone to support their local fair and celebrate the local agricultural.”
On weekdays the fair will open at 5 pm, and on Saturday at 1:00 pm. General admission is $6 on Tuesday through Friday for adults and students K-12. General admission on Saturday is $7.00 for adults and students K-12. Children four and under are free all week. For 2021, the Senior Day at the Fair has been canceled to protect the health of the seniors. The 65th Annual Lenoir County Fair was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Saturday Motorsports Entrance is $10 at the gate with limited availability due to parking. On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, School Days, all school-aged children (6-18 years) will receive $2.00 off regular admission. On Thursday, October 7, 2021, is the Old Fashioned Dollar Day at the fair where Gate Admission is $1 and rides are all $1 each (with a minimum of $10 ride purchase). Unlimited Ride Wrists Bands can be purchased Tuesday through Saturday for $25.
Entertainment is scheduled throughout the week to include EXTREME FAIR SCAREGROUNDS, the 33rd Annual Cheerleading Competition, the 24K Cowgirls Equestrian Drill Team, Midway Madness featuring live professional wrestling, a Tractor Driving Competition, and Come on Down Game Show. Other entertainment will be presented by Lenoir County Line Dancers, Parrott Academy Fine Arts, Rising Starz Dance Academy, Next Level Cardio Kickboxing Demo, Jennifer’s School of Dance, The Pink Slipper Dance Academy, North Lenoir Hawks Band, Diaper Derby, MOOVES Dance Studio, and Dance Etc. There will also be a Demolition Derby and Motorcross racing under the Lights.
“As someone who has grown up competing at the Lenoir County Cheerleading Competition, I can’t wait to watch this year,” said Norma Miller.
The Lenoir County Fair will feature different contests for participants to show off their talents including the Casserole Cook-Off, the Demolition Derby, the Diaper Derby, Educational Booths, and the Tractor Driving Contest.
