New Year brings hope for Magic Mile Media and Neuse News
2022 brought the best out of Magic Mile Media and Neuse News. While there were many highlights, a few moments stand out.
The year started off with a bang when Neuse News interviewed Governor Roy Cooper in January. In August, Neuse News Sports was launched. Neuse News held its annual election results in November. In December, Magic Mile Media live-streamed three separate local parades. The team hopes that 2023 keeps the momentum going.
“One of my best memories of 2022 was the overwhelming support we received from the schools, business community and students in launching Neuse News Sports,” said President BJ Murphy. “Our team is doing a great job at trying to cover all schools, all sports and all athletes from the college down to middle school.”
Murphy hopes mankind spends more time giving than receiving, that we share more authentic moments on social media rather than just their ‘perfect’ lives and growth for our community.
Newest Magic Mile Media member, Business Development Representative Lia Biscardi, said, ”My best memory of 2022 in my personal life is getting proposed to in a treehouse in NC. My best memory of 2022 at Neuse News is having a discussion with BJ about squirrels.”
Biscardi hopes 2023 brings her more love, knowledge, and abilities to continue to live a meaningful life.
Corespondent/Live Stream Tech Matt Lococo strives to lose weight, slow down, and spend more time with his family. He hopes 2023 brings peace.
Livestream Technician Dr. Travis Towne said, “I’m just going with the flow of craziness. Praying for direction and vision in planning for the future.” His New Year’s resolution is to prepare for the unpreparable.
Vice President of Operations Aleatha Thrower doesn’t make New Year’s resolutions. “I always hope for health and happiness for my daughter and my family.”
In October, the team went to Scare U Pink Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Halloween night. Videographer Danny Perez said that night was his best memory of 2022. He hopes 2023 has the Magic Mile Media/Neuse News team growing bigger. His New Year’s resolution is to be more socially active.
“My best memory of 2022 was when I held the first smART Kinston Artist Talk of the year after the pandemic,” said Assistant Publisher Kristy Bock. “It was the first time I’d ever done a public reading of my book.”
She hopes 2023 brings stability, both politically and financially, for the country, state, county, city, and personal lives. Her New Year’s resolution is to be more consistent. She loves to start new ideas or adventures, but believes her follow through could really use some work.
