Kinston Police: Updated murder update
On May 31, 2015 at 12:24 pm, Timothy Nobles was shot multiple times while operating his motor vehicle on the 400 Block of Cox Avenue at Heritage Street. Nobles traveled less than 100 yards before striking a utility pole. Nobles died at the scene. Investigators believe there were witnesses that have information on the case but have not come forward. The case remains unsolved to this date.
On Thursday, January 13th, 2022, investigators with the Kinston Police Department received information related to the murder of Timothy Nobles that occurred on May 31st, 2015. Subsequently the Kinston Police Department was able to obtain an arrest warrant on Marquez Outlaw, 32, of Kinston for his involvement in the homicide. Outlaw was arrested on Friday January 14th, 2022, without incident and charged with murder. He was placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under no bond.

On Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022, members of the Kinston Police Department were able to obtain a Murder Warrant for 42 year old, Michael Fisher, for his involvement in the 2015 murder of Timothy Nobles. Fisher was arrested by members of the Kinston Police Department on February 22nd, 2022, in Kinston N.C. and has been jailed without bond. This arrest would not have been possible without cooperation from the community and without the support of District Attorney’s Office, District 8A.
The Kinston Police Department places the highest priority on investigating crimes of violence perpetrated in our city. We will continue to investigate such cases with no compromise for crime, and continue to seek assistance from the communities that we proudly serve.
