Obituary: Glenwood Wooten Waters

Glenwood Wooten Waters of Kinston, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Kathyleen Waters, sisters; Edna Earl Wright, Ethel May Ipock, Mary Jones, Nettie Fitch, Anita (Pete) Taylor, brothers; J.B. Waters, J.O. Waters, Jimmy Waters, and Danny Waters.

Glenwood was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and he retired from Noland Company after more than 43 years of service to his customers.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, Nascar, cooking on the grill and all holidays. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynette Waters of the home; daughter, Melonie (Dan) Crowley; son, Jay (Monica) King; grandchildren, Jamie (fiance Jeremy Clark), Josh, Mandi (Gabe) Finfrock, Jarrett, Kayla (Justin) Melvin, Casey King, and Trent King; great-grandchildren, River Glen, Shane, and Rylie; brothers, Bill (Susie), and Joe (Patsy); sisters, Sandra (Dennis) Massey, and Carol (Millard) Hughes; sister-in-law, Rose (David) Holt. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He also cherished his two special fur babies; Atlas (11 years old), and Max in Dog Heaven. They were very special to him.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the chapel at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with visitation to follow. Interment will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Grifton, NC.

The family is requiring all in attendance to wear a mask.
