NCDOT: Lenoir County Bridge to Close for Maintenance

NCDOT: Lenoir County Bridge to Close for Maintenance

Closure scheduled to last up to 3 days

KINSTON – A Lenoir County bridge is scheduled to close Monday while N.C. Department of Transportation crews perform maintenance.

The closure of the Oak Bridge on N.C. 55 over the Neuse River may last up to three days. The closure will allow crews to safely work on the bridge approaches.

Message boards have been up for a couple of weeks, alerting the community of the closure. If needed, motorists can use N.C. 11, U.S. 70, and British Road/ Neuse Road to get around the work zone.

NCDOT suggests drivers using the detour to give themselves extra time for the commute, and to slow down and use caution near Oak Bridge.
