LCC Grad receives Academic Excellence Award

Harmony Campbell of Vanceboro has been selected Lenoir Community College’s Academic Excellence Award recipient for 2022 and is recognized as one of the Great 58 in the North Carolina Community College System.

The award is presented annually to a currently enrolled student who demonstrates dedication to their educational goals in an associate degree program and maintaining a cumulative grade point average of a 3.25 or higher.

A Criminal Justice Technology student, she graduated from LCC in December 2021 and transferred to North Carolina Central University to continue her study in Criminal Justice.

She was a member of the College’s volleyball team and was named to the Regional 10 All-Academic Team for two consecutive years.

“Lenoir Community College has been an incredible place to attend, as it has helped me grow as a person,” Campbell said. “I had the best experience from the classroom to the court playing volleyball for LCC,” she said.

“I have enjoyed the past two years meeting new people, creating a family with my volleyball teammates, and enjoying the little things LCC does to make the student feel appreciated. Starting my college experience at LCC has been one of the best decisions I have made.”
