Lenoir County Notice of Public Hearing - Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Manager’s Recommended Budget

Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Manager’s Recommended Budget In accordance with N.C.G.S. 159-12(b) for the purpose of taking comments from the public with regards to the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget, as proposed and submitted by the County Manager to the Board of Commissioners on May 16, 2022, the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, June 6, 2022, during the regular meeting of the Commissioners which begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Chambers located at 130 South Queen Street, Kinston, NC.

At the time of the public hearing, the Board may adopt the FY 22-23 budget and budget ordinance or they may adopt these measures at a later date, but no later than June 30, 2022. The recommended date for adoption of these measures is Monday, June 20, 2022.

The Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget, as submitted, for Lenoir County government, proposes appropriated fund balance of $1,414,142 to balance the budget, revenues of $67,756,339 with the tax rate remaining the same at $.845 per $100 valuation of property listed in Lenoir County for taxation as of January 1, 2022.
