Local church spreads message of positivity to Lenoir County Public Schools during EOG testing
With End of Grade testing taking place, volunteers of Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church visited Lenoir County Schools to spread words of inspiration with signs carrying positive messages.
“It is a blessing for us at Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church to encourage a few of the students and faculty at a couple of our Lenoir County Schools,” said Pastor Brian Rogers. “We had signs made up with phrases that we hoped would encourage and inspire them. End of grade testing can be very stressful. We just wanted to let the students know that we are thinking about them and are proud of them.”
Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church, located at 711 Phillips Road in Kinston, is committed to challenge every generation to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
“The past couple of years have been very stressful for students, parents, and all those in education,” said Rogers. “This was a way that we thought would be an encouragement to everybody! I even had students say to me while walking by, ‘Thank you for the encouraging words! Thank you for coming!’ Those words made my day.”
The last day of Lenoir County Public Schools is on June 1, 2022.
“My hope was that our church would be an encouragement to them, but let me say the students were also an encouragement to us,” said Rogers. “What a blessing! Also a big thank you to all those in education for investing in our students.”
Pastor Banks said, “We wanted to do something to encourage the students, faculty, and staff at some of our local schools. We know that EOGs can be a stressful time of the school year so we’re praying that all will go well.”
