LCC Program Chair Selected for State Task Force
Lenoir Community College Business Administration/Accounting and Finance Program Chair Kristy Grady has been selected to serve on the State Board/North Carolina Associate of Certified Professional Accountants (NCACPA) Education Task Force. She is one of two members from the North Carolina Community Colleges on the 10-member board.
The Task Force was authorized by the NC State Board of CPA Examiners, jointly with the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, to engage educators on matters of significance to the CPA profession. The Task Force consists of one State Board representative, Jodi Kruse, and one NCACPA representative, Dr. Kevin James. The remainder of the Committee are educators across North Carolina who have a vested interest in making sure North Carolina students can continue to be successful at becoming CPAs; or employer representatives that are involved in hiring these CPA candidates.
The Task Force’s primary goal is to ensure North Carolina candidates are prepared to succeed on the “core + discipline” CPA Exam that launches in January 2024. “This is a great opportunity to provide input from an educator’s point of view regarding rules to put candidates in a position to be successful beyond the classroom,” Grady said. “I am excited to be a part of the process.”
