Registration Open for September 8 Webinar: Conservation in Practice

The next webinar in our 2022 Virtual Conservation Series is Thursday September 8th! Save your spot today by registering now

Join other ForestHers for an exploration of conservation practices that create and maintain healthy soil, water, plants, and wildlife. Dr. Chris Moorman, with N.C. State University, will kick off the webinar with a brief overview of the relationship between wildlife and their environment, especially how plants create the underlying structure that wildlife needs to thrive.

Next, we’ll hear from three ForestHer landowners (Patricia Sowards, Michelle Riggsbee, and Joanne Rebbeck) who will share their adventures putting conservation into practice on their own land. We’ll hear firsthand lessons about:

- Converting an old pasture to native prairie
- Controlling invasive plants
- Thinning pines
- Prescribed burning
- Creating pollinator habitat

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, NC State will honor requests for reasonable accommodations made by individuals with disabilities. Requests can be served more effectively if notice is provided at least 10 days before the event. Direct accommodation requests to Robert Bardon at rebardon@ncsu.edu or 919.515.5575.
