Obituary: Kimberly Michele Oliver
Kimberly Michele Oliver, of Kinston, passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 14, 2023 after a life-long neurological disease that took her body, but allowed her to keep a warm and loving heart. For the first time in 35 years, she is healthy, mobile, and dancing in Heaven. We are rejoicing in the fact that she will never be burdened with pain again. However, her loss has taken a toll on those that loved her.
Kim was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Willard and Helen Griffin McDaniel; paternal grandparents, George and Hilda Stroud Oliver; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with her fur babies, Chummy, Ziggy, Heidi, Casey, and Willow.
She is survived by her parents, Lawrence and Glenda McDaniel Oliver; brother, Michael Oliver and wife, Ronda Mitchell Oliver, of Lexington Park, Maryland, and many close friends from the Kinston High School graduating Class of 1991. She is also survived by her fur babies, Buffy, Weston, and Graham.
The family would like to thank the many friends and family members who stayed in touch with Kim throughout her illness. They would also like to thank Dr. Kenneth Johnson and his staff at ECU Health Care, Dr. Ralph Cox and the UNC Urology staff, the CAP Program, and 3HC for all the help and compassion they received.
A memorial service will be held on at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston. Michael McDaniel of Alexandria, Virginia will perform the services. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Griffin Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lenoir County SPCA, 2455 Rouse Road Extension, Kinston, North Carolina 28504, or to the charity of your choice.
