Obituary: Lori Carraway Bryant

Lori Carraway Bryant, 63, of Pink Hill, NC, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at ECU Health, surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 6pm at Edwards Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Lori was born March 9, 1960, to Cecil and Betty Carraway. Lori worked at UNC Health Lenoir as the Clinical Secretary for the Family Birthing Center. She took pride in her work, always going the extra mile to ensure everything ran smoothly and efficiently. Lori was a friend to everyone, she was always the person to offer comfort, advice when needed, or a listening ear. Lori was a kind and loving person, a mother figure to all lucky enough to call her friend. Lori was a beloved wife and she and her husband, Joe, shared a special bond that anyone could feel when in their presence. Lori’s most cherished role was being a mother and grandmother. Nothing was more important than her children and grandchildren. She once said that even as a little girl, the one thing she knew she wanted out of life was to be a Mama. Lori loved nothing more than to bake and cook. She loved crafts and reading a good book. There was never a dull moment when Lori was around. She lit up the room with her smile, and you couldn’t help returning that laugh and smile she offered.

She is survived by her husband, William Joseph Bryant (Joe); her daughters, Amanda Stroud and husband Joseph Stroud, Ashley Brizzee and husband John Brizzee, Harleigh Blackman and husband Noah Blackman; grandchildren, Tabitha Stroud and boyfriend Tyler Bradshaw, Sean Stroud, and Aden Brizzee; her brother, Kevin Carraway. Lori is also survived by many special cousins and extended family members.

Lori is preceded in death by her parents.

Arrangements made by Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations. Online condolences may be expressed at www.edwardsfhc.com.
