Magic Mile Collective collaborates with 3DR Prints to gift 3D-Printed T-Rex to local school

Brandon Potter of Magic Mile Creative and Daniel Rouse of 3DR Prints have combined their creative forces to bring a special gift to a local school in the community.

“We talked about it one night, making something and giving it to a school,” said Rouse. “I don’t have anything cooler than a T-Rex.”

The 3D-printed T-Rex, named Roary McIlroary, is an impressive creation standing at an impressive 5 1/2 feet long. Daniel Rouse explained that the T-Rex was printed in various pieces and then assembled.

Rouse has been working with Potter at the Art 105 Building in Kinston for a few months with screen printing. Rouse has worked with 3D Printing for about five years.

“It’s been an awesome new thing to bring into our building here at Art 105,” said Potter. “It’s been another way to create, and it’s great to see what Daniel has come up with.”

Rouse plans to give Roary to a Lenoir County Public School, but asked the public to vote on each one. Those interested can vote by going to 3DR Print Facebook page.

"We'll go live and make the announcement. Then, we'll follow up and get in touch with the school later to deliver Mr. Roary here,” said Rouse.

Lenoir County Public Schools posted the following on their Facebook page about the T-Rex. “We're sharing this post to get your favorite LCPS school in the running for a very cool 3-D printed model of a T-Rex. To vote for your school, like the 3drprints Facebook page, share the video and name your school in that page's comment section.”
