Walenah Macon "Quin" Quinerly Outlaw

July 21, 1928 ~ December 3, 2023

Walenah Macon Quinerly Outlaw, 95, passed away Sunday at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is the daughter of the late Herbert P. and Martha Moore Quinerly, and is the wife of the late Lloyd Benjamin “LB” Outlaw Jr. She retired from Lenoir Memorial Hospital, where she was a Med Tech and a Lab Supervisor. In her free time she volunteered with Home Delivered Meals of Lenoir County and hospice. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Kinston, and went on mission trips to St. Lucia.

A service of love and remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 16, in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with Chaplain Seth Jones officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Quin is survived by her children, Lloyd Benjamin “Ben” Outlaw III and wife, Ada Freeman of Seven Springs and Pat Outlaw and wife, Wanda of Kinston; and a grandson, Ren Outlaw.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jessie Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lenoir County Council on Aging, Home Delivered Meals, 112 E. Blount St., Kinston, NC 28501; Gentiva Hospice, 115 Airport Rd., Kinston, NC 28501; or Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

The family would like to thank anyone who helped to care for Mrs. Outlaw during her sickness.
