Kinston Man Arrested for Vehicle Theft and Damaging Business Property

A Kinston man was arrested today on two felony and two misdemeanor charges related to the theft of a vehicle and the damaging of a fence at a Kinston business by driving the stolen vehicle through the fence.

On Thursday, March 2, officials from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office responded to L.J. Electrical Company, 2131 Wallace Family Road, Kinston, to a call about the theft of a motor vehicle. That vehicle was located four days later on Monday, March 6.

After an investigation, it was determined that Calvin Holloway III, 20, of Kinston was responsible for the vehicle theft; during the incident, Holloway allegedly drove the vehicle through a locked gate resulting in extensive damage to the L.J. Electrical Company fence.

Today, the LCSO, with assistance from the Kinston Police Department’s Violent Crime Action Team (VCAT), developed information about Holloway’s location; he was taken into custody by the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office.

Holloway was charged with:

  • Felony larceny

  • Felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle

  • Misdemeanor injury to real property

  • Misdemeanor first degree trespassing

He was given a secured bond and was released from custody after posting it.
