Downtown Kinston gets a new full-service dog grooming facility

A new dog grooming business has opened at 306 W. Blount Street. DeOGee Spaw, owned by Bianca Andrade and Stephen Hill, is one of the newest businesses in downtown Kinston. Located in the art district, they offer full-service baths, haircuts, nail trimming, and customized packages.
“Stephen Hill and I decided to start a dog grooming business,” said Andrade. “We are getting that up and running. I have been a professional equestrian my entire life and I jumped into the dog grooming world.”
DeOGee Spaw is open Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, they are open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
“Lenoir County was in desperate need of good dog grooming services,” said Hill. “I have four labradoodles that I always have a problem finding a groomer who would take such large dogs.”
Hill struggled to find a dog groomer with some of his friends and realized they too were having the same issue. The options for dog grooming in Kinston for big dogs is limited.
“We opened DeOGee Spaw to make Kinston and Lenoir County a better place to live for dog owners,” said Hill.
Their location on 306 W. Blount Street is temporary, and they plan on moving locations next door to the O’Neil at the old Super 10 by the end of the summer.
“I became a professional dog groomer and we wanted to bring something that everyone really needs that downtown Kinston doesn't have yet,” said Andrade.
